Community Engagement

Community Engagement

From its inception, WICOT–Uganda has prioritized active community involvement, ensuring that the voices, experiences, and aspirations of local people are at the heart of every project we design and implement. Our programs are not imposed from the outside; rather, they are co-created with community members, who participate in identifying challenges, proposing solutions, and driving implementation.

This grassroots approach has allowed WICOT–Uganda to develop innovative, context-specific interventions that respond directly to the realities of rural and peri-urban communities. As a result, our initiatives, ranging from adult literacy and women’s empowerment to maternal health education and vocational skills training, are not only more relevant and sustainable, but also empower communities to take ownership of their development journey.
